Artists in Conversation
About
We welcome artists and designers at any stage of their career to come together with fellow artists for informal discussions about works on view. Led by an artist-facilitator Deborah Forman, the program will focus on the theme of “fragments” and will include guided conversations, close-looking, and exercises for reflection.
Together, we will consider artistic choices, art historical references, and contemporary exhibition themes. The program provides an opportunity to get to know other local makers in a supportive environment.
Deborah Forman has a BFA from RISD, an MSAE from Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA from Parsons. She has taught Foundation Studies at Wheaton College and RISD Continuing Education for 16 years and is the author of two art instructional books: Paint Lab (2013) and Color Lab (2015) published by Quarry Books. She is a professional painter whose work is shown and collected both internationally and domestically. She maintains a studio in Providence, RI where she lives with her husband and teenage son.
