Open Studios
About
Two options for you to experience!
Option A: Dive into the exhibition, Drawing Closer, with supported drawing activities. Learn introductory techniques and approaches to drawing a live model with guidance from Soeun Bae (RISD BFA ‘23, Sculpture), a RISD THAD (Theory and History of Art and Design) Museum Fellow working in the museum’s Education Department. Other drawing materials and tools, such as magnifying glasses and circular paper, provide different ways to create lines, shapes, and figures. Meet on the 4th floor by the 224 Benefit Street entrance.
Option B: Play with patterns in this hands-on, imaginative approach to repetitive design. RISD graduate student, Shixin Zhao, leads this artist-designed experience for visitors of all ages. Meet in Common Room by the 20 North Main Street entrance.
Free. No experience necessary. All materials will be supplied.
Workshops and Studios: Open Studio hosts artist-designed activities that let visitors of all ages experience artworks in imaginative, thought provoking, and whimsical ways to connect artists and artistic process.
