Signature: Unsigned
Marks: On the verso frame in the upper left corner there is a painted red accession number "54.177"; continuing around the verso frame, in the upper center in white chalk are the words "X CALMANN"; in the upper center corner is what appears to be a "P" in white chalk; finally in the lower left of the verso frame is the word "PROVIDENCE" in white chalk.
On the verso side of the stretcher in the upper left corner there is a red painted accession number "54.177"; in the upper right of the stretcher in white chalk is the mark "49"; to the right of this chalk number still on the stretcher stencilled in black (paint?) are the marks "307 KM"; finally in the upper left of the stretcher in white chalk is a possible date "Jan (written in cursive) 24-54".
Label: In the upper center of the vertical brace there is a new RISD Museum label with a red border; in the upper right of the verso frame there is a yellow piece of tape with the typewritten accession number "54.177"; in the upper right corner of the verso stretcher, is a piece of yellow type with the typewritten accession number "54.177"
