Viewed with Zuma #8, one can see the progressive destruction of a vandalized beachfront property on Zuma Beach in Malibu, California. John Divola used the place as a makeshift studio, often spray painting his own designs in the interior. The stunning view of the sunset over the ocean seen through the windows of this incongruously devastated and chaotic place suggests doubt about our ability to care for our environment.
