Members and their guests are invited to join us for a memorable exploration of art, history, and culture at the magnificent Eustis Estate in Milton, Massachusetts. This exclusive field trip has been organized specially for RISD Museum members. Discover the architectural splendor and rich history of this stunning estate, known for its exquisite design and remarkable art collection. The Eustis Estate is home to the exhibition, The Importance of Being Furnished: Four Bachelors at Home, which explores the evolution of American interior design by spotlighting four historic homes - Beauport-Sleeper-McCann House, Codman Estate, Gibson House, Pendleton House – and their creators. The RISD Museum has lent several pieces of furniture to supplement the show. Tripp Evans, renowned art historian, professor, author and curator of Historic New England’s exhibition The Importance of Being Furnished: Four Bachelors at Home, alongside Elizabeth Williams, Curator of Decorative Arts, RISD Museum, and Artist Beth Katleman, lead a dynamic tour of the Eustis Estate that shares insights into the estate's collection, offering a unique perspective on its significance and history.
